To Prague & Back: Screening at DC Shorts Film Festival
A little over one year ago today, I was finishing up production on a major film project in Prague, Czech Republic, thanks to the help of many, many donors to an extensive Indiegogo campaign. That film would be named Shadow, and I am proud to have had it screened at DC Shorts Film Festival where many of my supporters could attend.
It’s always a little nerve racking sitting in a theater watching your own film with an audience of strangers, especially when your film is part of a program with about 10 other pieces. Yet it’s always rewarding when you get a few laughs and tear drops in the right places.
DC Shorts had several events filled with tips and tricks and meets and greets for filmmakers from various parts of the world, but the most influential part for me was the Q&A session after my film’s opening night. There’s nothing like getting direct feedback on your work, and to hear first-hand how it impacts people is a feeling that is incomparable.
This is only the beginning. My second short film, Love & Variance is currently in submission into the festival circuit, and I also have a few more projects in the works. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
